Effective and last updated:2026-08-29

LandX K.K. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information relating to Cap Me users in accordance with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable requirements. This Policy applies to the Cap Me app, related websites, support, and AI Enhancer services. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.

1. Information we process and why

2. On-device processing

Media preprocessing, basic OCR, ASR, and rule-based analysis are performed on your device by default. Original photos, videos, documents, and recordings you select are not uploaded to our servers merely for basic recognition. You manage on-device files, caches, and system-calendar data through your device or the relevant service.

3. AI Enhancer

When you start an AI Enhancer task, the app briefly connects to obtain an execution permit and deduct one use by sending a pseudonymous entitlement identifier, platform, version, and execution ID. Recognized content is not sent at this stage. The app then prefers the device's system model. If on-device processing succeeds, only the processing target, outcome, duration, and stable error code are reported. Only when the on-device model is unavailable, not ready, times out, or returns invalid output does the app reuse the same permit to send the recognized text, region layout, recognition language, reference time, time zone, and directly detected URLs needed for remote processing by our server, OpenRouter, and the selected model provider; no second use is deducted. Original media, rule candidates, missing fields, and rule conflicts are not sent. Request content is processed only as long as needed for real-time analysis, is not used to train general-purpose AI models, and is not retained as persistent business data after analysis.

4. Google user data

Cap Me requests only the permissions needed through Google OAuth and only when you choose the relevant feature. Google Drive files are downloaded to your device for processing, and Google Calendar data is used only to perform calendar actions you request. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, credit decisions, or training general-purpose AI models.

5. Processors and third-party services

If you generate an ICS file, send an invitation, or share through another app, the recipient handles the information under its own terms.

6. International processing

These providers may process information outside Japan. Where applicable, we follow the APPI by using contractual protections, confirming equivalent safeguards, providing required information or obtaining consent, and exercising necessary and appropriate oversight.

7. Retention and deletion

After the relevant period, we delete or anonymize the data unless retention is required by law, to preserve legal rights, or to prevent fraud. Uninstalling the app does not automatically remove data already written to a third-party calendar or server records that must legally be retained.

8. Your choices and rights

You may refuse or revoke camera, microphone, photo, file, calendar, and Google-account permissions. Related features may then become unavailable. Subject to applicable law, you may request notice of purpose, access, disclosure of third-party transfer records, correction, cessation of use or third-party provision, or deletion of personal data we hold. We may verify your identity and may restrict or deny a request where permitted by law.

9. Security

We use organizational, personnel, physical, and technical safeguards proportionate to risk, including HTTPS transport, purchase-token encryption, access control, least privilege, and practices designed to keep purchase tokens and recognized request content out of logs. If a breach may materially affect users, we will report and notify as required by law.

10. Children

Cap Me is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect children’s personal information. Minors should use the service with the consent and guidance of a parent or guardian.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may revise this Policy as features, processing practices, or legal requirements change. We will give reasonable notice of material changes in the app or on the website and obtain additional consent where required.
